Hike into Jumbo Pass cabin from Glacier Creek to meet Pete and Caroline and the kids. Almost pulled the plug as was feeling really crappy Friday - kind of feverish as my elbow was pretty red. Seemed to be better in the morning so at lunch decided to head out. Only an hour wait at the ferry. A hour detour to Kaslo as I forgot the chicken wire.

Easy run with Courtney around the Williamson Lake trails and then Crowbar and Faultline. Tripped and fell near the bottom landing on my injured elbow ripping off the dressing, the stitches and packing it full of dirt again. This meant another hour at the ED getting it cleaned out again and some more stitches. Ugh - I was pissed at myself not to mention it friggin hurt.

Some riding setting up the course and then out to the top of Flowdown to do some timing. I was hoping to race but not enought volunteers. Was a bit tired anyway - only 4 hours of sleep after being on call - didn't feel sharp all day. Decided to sweep the course by timing myself down Flowdown after the last racer had gone by but proceeded to crash nicely a third of the way down. Not sure what happened - I was going fast and the trails are loose at the moment. Bruised my elbow and opened up a nice deep gash. Also bruised my left hip. Bike ran into a tree - thought I broke something as I heard a crack but I think it was just the seat getting forcefully turned. Had to go bother Kim to get it cleaned out (she said it was ridiculous how much dirt was in the wound). Not a fun day.

Painful run as it was a bit warm and my lunch was not sitting well. Tried to wait until later in the afternoon but it was still 30 degrees. Did 20 minutes warmup and felt OK. Then plan was to do some 1 km tempo sections. First one was decent speed but the next two slowed significantly in the heat so left it at three and skipped the last two I had planned. Not the best time of day for speed work but couldn't get myself out of bed in the morning.

Tour de MacPherson with the crew. Brook joined us for a bit as well. Trails are bone dry. Legs starting to feel a bit tired. Spent the afternoon sport climbing at Begbie bluffs. Only climb ever three years when Lucas forces me to.
