Backcountry skiing (Megawatt) 3:00:00 [3] 13.5 km (13:20 / km) +1350m 8:53 / km

Dawn patrol at the Fingers with Travis and Ryan. We started at 6:15 and climbed in the dark until we were about at the bottom of the opening at the Fingers. Lots of fresh snow but we were following an old track which helped (except when it was way too steep). One run in the 5th finger and out via the 4th. The upper sections were great while lower down not quite enough pitch to ski fast. The snow was deep but a little heavier (more coastal). First ones up there and fresh tracks (which with how busy the Fingers seem to be these days is becoming a rare thing).

Classic ski 1:05:00 [3] 11.5 km (5:39 / km) +250m 5:06 / km

Quick ski between work - yes I do occasionally work:) It was puking at least S5 out there with huge snowflakes but I think the groomer must have just been out as the dog loop wasn't too bad in terms of snow cover. Certainly a bit slow but so nice out there. I needed wind shield wipers on my visor...

And a short video...

Backcountry skiing (100eight) 2:00:00 [3] 8.0 km (15:00 / km) +750m 10:13 / km

Went out with Stuart for his first backcountry ski since breaking his femur last February. I think he was a little apprehensive but he did great. We went back to the the zone I skied on Friday and did two runs. Climbing seemed fine while downhill skiing might take a bit of time for him to get back to feeling natural (though he looked Ok he said it wasn't necessarily always fun unless the terrain was smooth). All in all a very positive day though. It does look like the skiers left glade can be entered on either side of the upper cliff.

Pretty fun sled ride out too hitting the powder on the side of the road.

Quick ski with Courtney and Logan. A skiff of new snow made it slower but still good.
