Bike 2:15:00 [2] 52.0 km (23.1 kph) +845m
shoes: Norco Search XR

After a few really warm days (which are making me think that the front snow pile will not set a record for melting date this year) it was cool and blustery today. Pretty strong headwind riding out towards Martha. Went up Westside road as well. Lots of hills today. Sit bones were feeling the ride length towards the end.

Skate ski 1:20:00 [3] 13.5 km (5:56 / km) +350m 5:15 / km

Adventure skate skiing on logging roads near 3 Valley Gap. Most logging roads around here climb up but thought the roads out to some of the newer low elevation cut blocks south of Griffin Lake could be a good ski. Turned out I was right - up and down but only a few steeper climbs. Conditions were fairly smooth as no sled traffic. Moose tracks in a few spots created some holes...

A few hours earlier would have been better as punching through with my poles. Skis stayed on the surface - hard work for Milo in a few spots where he would sink in.

I had noticed the other day that the flats were snow free around 8 Mile so headed down there for a run today. Managed to run north on the old rail grade road almost to Cartier then back along the beach. Hard work as lots of sand running.

Backcountry skiing (100eight) 5:43:54 [2] 16.0 km (21:30 / km) +1810m 13:44 / km

Back up Begbie with Brook. A warmer day so stuck to NE facing terrain and climbed higher. Made it to the toe of the glacier - no traffic above the cliffs but the quiet was interupted by some sledders when we were nearing the top of our run. Great turns in the alpine and through the cliffs (went through the second entrance). Climbed up to the knoll and skied down the same way as Saturday. Snow was good until the cutblock and still skiable even lower. If this was the last day of touring it was a good one.

Ski stats for the season:

100eight - 22 (82)
Roamr - 7 (12)
Findr - 10 (10)
Megawatt (old) - 3 (33)
Megawatt (new) - 0
Drift - 0 (2)

Shoulder rehab, crossfit WOD (pushup, plank, overhead press x 8-10 reps seven cycles), and hip rehab.

Skate ski 1:00:00 [2] 11.0 km (5:27 / km) +10m 5:26 / km

Nordic trails closed yesterday as the weekend brought lots of skiers out. Only a few nordic areas still grooming so may have had some out of town traffic. Parking lot was full and cars were parked on the hwy. Looked worse than it was I was told as trails were quieter (parking lot capacity was half due to physical distancing between cars and minimal carpooling). The club was getting stressed though so not surprising that they decided to pull the plug. Grooming into April is the exception rather than the norm so can't complain too much. I'm disappointed in the complete closure (parking lot blocked) as I was expecting to ski for a few more weeks after grooming stopped. We will likely have enough snow into May...

Instead of the groomed trails we went to the flats and did a lap near the airport. Getting a little uneven which is a good balance exercise. Still nice skiing - don't expect it to last long though.
