Bike 1:05:00 [1] 17.0 km (15.7 kph) +275m

My dad wanted to get out for a ride this morning - he took us on his one hour loop. A mix of road and dirt trails - would have ideal for the gravel bike.

Hike 55:00 [1] 3.5 km (15:43 / km) +250m 11:35 / km

Mt Doug with Courtney, my mom and my sister.

Bike 1:05:00 [2] 10.25 km (9.5 kph) +330m

Short ride with Courtney in South Canoe. On or way to the island for the week. Having a timeline (ferry reservation) always adds a bit of stress to these rides but nice to get out for some exercise. Beat the rain by about an hour. Checked out the new trails built this year - nothing amazing but fun additions.

Squeezing out the last few days of alpine adventures... we are heading to the island for a week and a half and looks like a pulse of winter is on tap for the high elevations this weekend. Had wanted to run to Eva Lake but a grizzly hanging around the summit meant a group of 4 restriction. Dogs aren't allowed there this year either.

Decided to run Frisby (have never run into the alpine) but short cut the start of the trail by using the ATV trail. About 1.5km and 200m of climbing joined me with the bike trail a little after the 5km mark (saving 7km roundtrip). This route works out pretty nicely for trail running as I was into the sub alpine within half an hour. First lake was ar 4km so much more manageable for Milo (both from a water standpoint and also from a speed standpoint - the trail is too fast on the way down when biking). Nice temperatue (15C at the truck) and periodic sun. Really nice fall colours. The ATV section of the run was less steep and rocky than my memory of it.

Felt pretty crappy for the first 30 minutes. Stopped for a bit at the lake and ate a bar - felt better afterwards though the grade did ease off at that point as well. Good two hour run - worth doing again. Might be able to drive slightly higher on the road that turns right a little earlier.

Bike 45:00 [1] 8.0 km (10.7 kph) +220m

Easy ride on Stimulus with Courtney and Milo.

Bike 1:28:00 [3] 14.0 km (9.5 kph) +695m

Courtney had to work the evening walk in so I went on ride #2 on my own. FIrst time this year riding at the ski hill (which closed a week ago). Very nice to be riding somewhere different. I feel like I've ridden Macpherson too much this year. Up the hiking trail then north loop, south loop and 5620. No signs saying to stay off the trail so figured why not... fun descent but plenty of brake bumps. The amount I rode was perfect - 6x more vertical on a rough trail would be painful. Hopefully there is some trail maintenance planned for next season.

Run 1:02:00 [3] 10.5 km (5:54 / km) +50m 5:46 / km
shoes: Columbia Outdry

Solo with Milo on the greenbelt. Feels like it has been a while since I've run along the river. Tried to maintain a steady pace but after 8km of about 5:15 pace I couldn't hold that much longer. Despite my near record running volume this year I have not regained any lost speed. Came back along the bank near Bear Island which was a mistake as had to walk a section through tall grass.
