Trail Run 57:00 [3]

Up the HVHTA en seul - bag of crap like to start but felt better as it went on. Stupid crappy poor tracking kneecap burned huge.

Road Ride 2:20:00 [3]

First ride since Coast Raid and now my knees hurt! We used road bikes as my mtn bike is still in the box from the race - bad form, I know.

Supa sprinty run in o-town

Road Run 35:00 [3]

Not my most stellar run of the year...

Trail Run 1:00:00 [2]

Super fun scavenger hunt-type run around B-Town put on by Rocky and Bulwinkle - 400m is a long way to run backwards! Great eats at CoachLD's and Goose's place afterward.

Trail Run 40:00 [3]

Up the HVHTA to the Wellness Centre and back via neighbourhood. Such a slack a$$ lately.

Note

Wicked round of 18 at Lakeview in Mississauga. Frantz, Bryce, and I were -1 after the round of team scramble. The highlight was a sweet eagle on a too-short par 5.

Wed night crew started up again on the HVHTA

Trail Run 53:00 [3]

Got dropped off at Castlederg and ran home along sections 1 and 2. Running with an iPod is awesome - except for when the bejesus gets scared out of me when I rouse a small animal beside the trail.

Trail Run 1:04:00 [3]

Steady run on the HVHTA.

Trail Run 33:40 [5] 7.1 km (4:45 / km)

SS5Peaks at Albion - Time to take it up a notch / get things off the ground. Not much since Coast Raid so why not kick things off with a sprint race? Bob McGrath and I toed the start line ready to race each other. Up the first hill, I jawed at him to let him know that I'd be on his shoulder the whole time! Much to my shagrin, that meant a 4m18s first KM and a 4m05s second - which is a quick pace for me on that hilly course. Got into the pain groove pretty quickly and managed to hold a decent pace until about 5 KM. Then it was 'hold on' time. I had dropped Bob a little and didn't see him behind me as we passed the 6 KM marker - wait, wasn't the Sport Course supposed to be 6 KM? ?!:;(), I said to myself for not checking the final distance before the start. Lumbering along, I managed to keep some chasers at bay but didn't have the gas to catch the two in front of me. Then I heard the grunting and puffing from behind me. Sh!t. 300m to go and I was pretty spent, but always having saved a little, I waited for his final kick. I heard the thumping get pretty close and then I did my best gazelle impression which was followed up by a clear comment - "SH!T!". I know what it's like trying to pass some one when they pour on a little extra so that's what I did.

Bent had quite a 1/2 marathon, too!

Road Run 35:00 [2]

Stomach really upset for some reason so after a few stops in the woods, I called it short.

Beer Mile 13:30 [3]

Not as strong a showing as was in the Hammer with Hansel. DrWells rocked the racecourse for sure whilst Hansel wretched (again!) and I had such an issue with that 3rd and 4th beer. Controversy began when the beginnings of a chunder reached my chin but fell no further. Penalty lap? It was ruled no given that it didn't hit the ground.

Note

Paintball - No training really as I cowered behind cover most of the time but there was some running at some points. The best training was the barrage of paint I was hammered with during the last game of 4-on-25. My sneaky strategy DID NOT pay off and the beating I took as a result caused more pain than I can ever remember feeling. Oh the trials of a bachelor at his stag...

Trail Run 1:05:00 [3]

Feelin' the lactic burn after inactivity since the race. Ouch!

Wednesday Sep 3, 2008 #

Road Run 57:00 [3]

Road run around B-Town with Goose and Leanimal. First run after the Coast Raid so I was feeling it for sure.
