Notes from flying pig:
- wow. um. this weekend went a lot better than i ever imagined it could’ve. and it’s not that i DIDN’T believe in myself, but i honestly shocked myself w the ability to stay so (!!) locked in for every race. i

alison & i texted a lot on thursday about pre race nerves and i said that i wanted to run my own best race and let the times around me be what they were going to be. and while this weekend was a lot about grit, and pushing my body really hard and reminding myself how badly i want it, i think that (and a one control at a time mindset) is what got me through.

physically, i’m still slower in the woods that i want to be… but that can be worked on ! and i’ve seriously improved!

a redemption arc for my flying pig history & i am really excited for what’s to come!

made it back to my dorm for some well deserved rest and recovery ahaha ahahaha it’s 1am … aka 4am where i was THIS morning … needless to say, zonked!

day 1 of wuoc trials!! i’m happy w my effort today! suuuper muddy but overall navigation was pretty uncomplicated! some routes where i feel super confident that my going around was great but one where i likely lost a minute or two doing so + a one-ish minute bobble just not paying attention to my compass as i contoured but overall a p good race. GAAAASSSED by the last few controls.
