volunteering at newy parkrun ( token sorting) - only male volunteer in the finish area, definitely not a pink-clad Night Strider.

excitement for the day was an attempt at bag-theft - about 10 minutes after the start one of the volunteers noticed the perp, stereotypically wearing hoody and cap, reaching over a high clip-lock fence with a big pair of bolt cutters aimed at a cluster of bikes next to the fence. Unfortunately for hoody-man the volunteer who spotted him wears a blue Police uniform when she is not a Night Strider dressed in pink, and she immediately went into professional mode - "YOU - STOP THERE!". He didn't stop, but ran into the house behind the fence. Police were called and made an arrest a few minutes later. All but the final arrest was resolved before the first finisher arrived!
