first SL since the NSW Champs in 2014 - back in the big time, so I took a BIG TIME!
M55AS - Course 4 nominal 2.2km
competing on this map very pleasing for me, as it was a possible major event area I identified during mapping for Coffs come-and-try-it in 2013, which lead to formation of Bush'n'Beach - also interesting to see how Alex used the basemap info I extracted from LIDAR, and turned it into a real O-map
reasonably happy with #1 & #2, took long track option for #2
bit casual going to #3 - knew I was on the ridge line E of the railway, but not sure where - remembered enough of the area from 3 years ago to know that any further towards the railway was not on, but there was enough lawyer vine on the ground to make progress along the ridge line painfully slow
took the track option toward #4, picked the right attack point off the track, slight misread of the depressions and drifted too far north - after I left #4 I recognised the spot where I started the drift and wasted about 5 min
remainder of course steadier - minor wobble at #11 when tempted by nearby control that I knew wasn't mine, but wanted to check feature - minor quibble about lack of contour tag, or exact control placement, but no time lost from that
