Cashmere Downs 10 k race (formerly known as Rovers 10 k) - on a new route from Hallswell Quarry - a bit stiff in the left achilles and started off kind of slow but the watch showed 3.06 - but then the next one showed 3.38 (did have a bit of hill or two in it) and it turned out that there were longer and shorter k's. Was down in 7th place after one k. Couldn't really toe off because of the sore achilles (maybe it is really weak achilles) but I seemed to find a good pace and it felt like I was pushing hard. Managed to go a couple of secs faster on the second half of the race, which I was pleased with and I also picked up some places and ended up in 4th place - just behind Tane in the placings but far behind in time. Pleased anyway that the achilles didn't fall all apart and I liked competing.

maybe slightly dehydrated? Did a bit of biking today - into Varsity and back again past Copy Quality to pick up some scans of LiDAR contours for sand dune areas.

Yep - up the Valley and then up the left side, after a while I saw a fireman look a like person in the Valley and decided to stay up higher as I assumed something was going on down there (they do also have hay bales to protect the powerline poles in the Valley) - anyhow that meant that I had to climb all the way up into Vic Park and down Hollis Ave and that way home. Felt pretty tired today.

A jog from Clarkford around the place - a wee bit of thunder and some huge drops of rain. Feeling all right today - after a good nights sleep. The length is measured in Google Earth - seems like a bit longer than it was??

Over to Rapaki and up Mt Vernon and back down Huntsbury - a bit stiffer in the achilles today. Took it a bit gentler to be easier on the achilles
