Paddle (River) 2:55:00 [3] 20.0 km (8:45 / km)
ahr:112 max:152 shoes: Endorfinn Ski

Paddle from West Toodyay to Posselts Ford, finishing with the Super Chute, with Stevej and one of his workmates, Scott.
My first go through the Ti trees and at todays level some parts were tricky but overall we had a great run. Good to see some of the areas that may cause some problems during the race. Feeling very good about my Avon preparation after today as I have now seen most of the difficult sections and unless the levels vary too much I now have the confidence that was lacking a couple of weeks ago.
I managed to get myself out of a couple of situations where I'm sure I would have gone for a swim previously, when I managed to find myself side on or turned around in the trees.
Highlight of the day was when I managed to save myself from falling in twice at the Super Chute to complete a confidence building dry run for the day.
Steve was not able to hide his disappointment when I did not fall in.

p.s Steve got a message from Liz on the way back who completed the marathon today in a time of 3:30, well done Liz.
This would be a great time to start logging on AP, would be good to read all about the race. ( I have a user name reserved for you if you want it )

Run warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Run 19:16 [4] 4.04 km (4:46 / km)
ahr:150 max:165

Run around Brighton streets instead of around the lakes to mix things up a bit.
Another run with no trouble or pains, feeling very good.
Starting to feel good running slightly faster but will have to try a longer slower run soon.

Yoga 35:00 [2]

Started off doing a core workout but the a sore shoulder and neck quickly stopped that so I did a yoga session instead.
Always feels good afterwards, I really should do it more often.

Run warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.3 km (7:42 / km)

Walk/Jog warm up as it was a bit chilly out tonight.

Run 15:03 [3] 3.42 km (4:24 / km)
ahr:149 max:167

Ran around the Brighton lakes.
Tried to emulate the feel of running downhill as I noticed how much better it felt on my legs when running on the slight downhills during the trail running yesterday. Faster leg turnover and landing more on the mid-foot.
It felt great with no knee niggles at all, usually I feel some minor instability in my knees after a couple of km's (although lately it hasn't gone past that stage so it may just be the continued improvement).

Paddle (River) 1:40:00 [3] 12.5 km (8:00 / km)
ahr:127 max:161 shoes: Endorfinn Ski

Paddle with Stevej from Walyunga to Amiens.
Walyunga about 0.72, very nice level smoother & quicker run than 0.5 on saturday.
Steve had an early swim at Walyunga (lazy mistake) and I had a swim at the top of Bells, I was slowly approaching the drop watching Steve go down when I realized I was way too far to the right & didn't get back in time. Once in I was a little too casual in my swim to the rocks and just as I reached for the rock I felt myself get pulled away and down the next drop I went.
Very happy with my progress on the rapids and hoping for a similar level during the race....
Bring on Championships for round two.

Run 21:42 [3] 4.12 km (5:16 / km)
shoes: Keen Ridgeline

½ road ½ trail run.
Spent 20mins running around looking for my HRM transmitter & strap, thought it must have been left in Steve's car so I went without it.
Found today after it went in the washing machine with the paddling clothes.
Can't be any worse than going through some of the rapids on saturday.
