Paddle (River) 1:02:00 [3] 9.0 km (6:53 / km)
ahr:129 max:166 shoes: PRS

First paddle in new PRS with Jacko from the Narrows around Herrison island and back.
This thing slices through the water where the Endorfinn would bounce over it.
I nearly had an early dip when I realized how well this boat turns compared to the Endorfinn, very responsive. Another panic moment when I felt a few thuds on the surf rudder, then it clicked that I was just slicing up some jellyfish.
We were both feeling a bit under the weather this morning, adding a few phlegm jellyfish to the river as we went. A combination of Jacko feeling lethargic and myself in the PRS resulted in something not heard very often...
Jacko saying slow down.
Felt great to be in the new boat, looking forward to spending the coming week down at Mandurah on holidays on the water every day and really getting comfortable with paddling it.

Orienteering race (MetrO Series) 25:32 [3] 4.55 km (5:37 / km)
ahr:161 max:175

Once again I got caught up in the start and took off faster than I would have liked. Still feeling a bit dodgy but managed to run quite smoothly, I really liked the short trail running section for a nice change from the streets.
No major mistakes today, died a bit near the end when I should have at least tried to pass the two runners in front of me but just accepted my place and plodded along. Turns out those two runners just in front came 2nd and 3rd, Doh!
Off for a nice relaxing week at Mandurah now, hopefully will come back refreshed and ready to take on the Lake Gwelup course.

Swim (Pool) 34:00 [3] 1.4 km (24:17 / km)

Swim at Joondalup Arena after work.
Concentrating on technique again, stroke is feeling smoother and sometimes even lazy, starting to see why Tooms says he could fall asleep swimming but still a long way to go yet.
I noticed that my stroke rate was less (especially after the catch up drill) so I counted the # for 1 length of the 50m pool. It was 34 which is quite a bit less than last time I counted (I think closer to 45). It actually feels like I'm swimming slower but when I checked the clock I was about the same each lap.

Run 25:00 [2]
shoes: Keen Ridgeline

We took the girls out for a ride on there new bikes, Lily is getting quite good so she did some laps around the park while Chloe was riding on the grass hill with Deb. I ran alongside Lily who rides at a good pace to run with. Very sticky out tonight but the breeze was nice when we stopped.
