Run 1:45:00 [3]
shoes: Nike lunarglide 3

Failed long run, but had a good ending.
I dropped of Deb & the girls at Burswood to see Mary Poppins then parked and had about 3 hours to kill before meeting them afterwards.
I ran around the back of the golf course, then over Windan bridge and along the path past the causeway where I started to feel tired/sore/hot and very unmotivated. I switched off the GPS and stopped bothering about pace or distance which helped a bit with the motivation but I was still tired, sore and hot. I think the ride yesterday took a bit more out of my legs than I thought. The heat was really getting to me and I was stopping to fill my bottle every chance I had. I was also getting the occasional nerve pain in my right calf. It's not the achilles but seems to coming from somewhere higher up, either a trigger point or tightness in my hamstring/glutes. I'll have to get on top of it soon as it could lead to achilles trouble in future.
I ran past the causeway for a while, then turned back & ran over to Herrison island where I started to do a loop but access to the western side was locked so I just did a shorter loop before returning to Burswood.
I drove to the golf course where I had a quick shower then headed back to Burswood with an hour or so still left before the show finished.
I had $5 in my wallet so I decided to see how long I could last in the casino.
I sat down at a strange looking Egyptian pokie machine and put in $3 pressed the play button and then some balls dropped down on the screen.
I didn't have a clue what was going on but the machine made I nice dinging sound and I was suddenly $119 up.
I pressed collect, cashed in and walked out, found Deb's dad waiting in the main foyer and shouted him to a coffee & cake while we waited for the show to finish, then went for a nice dinner.
Good times (apart from the run... that part sucked)

Ride 2:25:00 [3] 65.0 km (26.9 kph) +367m
shoes: Giant TCR C2

Early morning ride with Jacko,Adam,Matt, & Luke.
From Jacko's place we headed up the freeway, over to Connolly, then north through Butler and turning at Alkimos. A couple of solid efforts on the way out and overall my legs were feeling ok, but I could feel the lack of riding for 6 weeks. Just after turning I got a flat rear tyre so we all stopped while I struggled to change it. I'm guessing I was able to get the pressure up to about 70psi with the hand pump but I could definitely feel the difference.
I was starting to struggle a bit coming back on Connolly and after waiting for a car at the Burns Beach round about I tried to catch up to the others on the climb up to Shenton ave. I wasn't making up any ground and really struggled up the hill, I was thinking that my legs had died then looked down to see the tyre mostly flat again. Thinking that as it had made it this far it was probably a slow leak when Jacko came back we used CO2 to hopefully keep it going until we finished the ride. 400m up the road it was flat again so I borrowed a tube from Jacko and changed it again.
Back on the road again and I pretty quickly realised that there was a bump in the tyre where it wasn't sealed properly against the rim. At least it was going to stay up this time so rather than mess around & waste another CO2 cartridge I rode the last 12km pretending I was riding on cobblestones.

Run 34:15 [3] 6.05 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Nike lunarglide 3

Legs not happy at all during the run.
I ran from Jindalee along the coastal path, down onto the beach for a while, back up at the main car park then along the path going back onto the beach before Quinns Rd to return to the main car park before returning to Jindalee on the path.
Legs tired, knees felt unstable and towards the end I had a couple of sharp nerve pains in my right calf. I should have stayed home.
Ice and calf massage when I got home & fingers crossed.
