Kep ultra recon run. Wundowie to Mount Helena.
A group of abut 20 runners today, some going on to do 41km. I felt with the limited running in the last few weeks 27km would be enough.
Some heavy rain, a few showers and plenty of fine breaks made it a nice change & enjoyable run. The track was a bit muddy in a few places but overall better than the last recon on dry loose gravel.
Plenty of gradual ups & downs, I would have preferred some steeper sections to break things up a bit. I stopped for a couple of minutes at Wooroloo and Chidlow & found it a bit of a struggle once I started running again.
Legs felt pretty tired at the end but not totally drained so hopefully I haven't lost too much in the last few weeks.
I only had 1 goal from today's run, not time or distance related, nor anything to do with nutrition or hydration... I wanted to loose my right 4th toenail.
It has been bothering me on long runs recently and was still bruised from the 1st recon run so I didn't cut it when doing my other nails and although the last 10km were a bit painful the goal was achieved when I was able to pull it off after the run.

Swim 30:00 [3]

Morning swim at Joondalup before watching Lilys netball game.
I figured the swim would help loosen up my back which is still a bit tight and causing some leg pain.
Not sure how far I swam, but the back felt a little better when I finished.
Hopefully it'll be good for the Kep recon run tomorrow morning.
Looking forward to a rainy trail run.

Note

Possibly the most painful massage I've ever had.
Inflicting plenty of pain on my lower back, glutes and right leg.
I think there was some dust in the room because during the massage I got some in my eyes which caused some irritation that may have been mistaken for tears.

After a bad day with my leg again yesterday, sometimes sharp pain, sometimes a deep ache, sometimes nothing, I decided to test it out again this morning.
10k out & back on the trail south of Hester ave.
Again some very mild discomfort at times while running, I stopped a couple of times to stretch. Calves, Quads, Hammies, Glutes and back all stretched as I'm not 100% where to trouble is originating from although I'm prettty sure it's my lower back.
I got through the run ok, able to pick up the pace a bit for the last km without any issues. Nice morning to be out.
Another massage appt tomorrow and I'll keep up with all the stretching & hopefully it'll go away soon.

Slow jog on the treadmill, gradually increasing the incline until I needed to walk. Felt very tired & lacked motivation to do a longer run so the constant hill run seemed to be the best use of the short time I was willing to be off the couch this evening.
