First time at Harvey's Creek SF - Intervals
https://photos.app.goo.gl/3LhimC6ZJhM6BJ7p6It looked like there was a storm that came through a few years ago and took down a lot of the trees on top of the mountain. Still usable, just slower going. Then it started to open up more as I got lower. It's definitely a green forest, but not any worse than many of the places where we run.
I wanted to do downhill intervals on this map in particular because I really need to improve my downhill speed, especially on rocky terrain. It was super challenging to keep moving down the cliffs and rocky slopes quickly and navigating accurately. Definitely good practice and really a completely different focus from the map yesterday.
I used the method Spike posted on his log to connect and smooth the KP cliffs in OCAD. This map was a test for how accurate that could be. As it turns out, very accurate. I would say that 85 to 90% of mappable cliffs were mapped with an accurate shape. I can go back and make the cliff settings more sensitive in KP to see if I can pick up more, but this is a very good sign. It saves hours of work on the map.
