An equanimity walk in Nottingcook with Z before heading to Kittery Pt. to head up river and get the boat out. And now, one less thing, a big one at that.
Wind against current on the Piscatsqua allows an unconventional way to moor for a while.
Got the boat to Portsmouth today via Cape Porpoise. No time for exercise other than some effort that single-handed sailing calls for. Have to make a trip to CT sometime this late fall/winter to visit the new map. I missed the first A meet at Blue Mountain in 1980 for similar reason, a boat delivery, and went to Peekskill in December for 2 days of catch-up. Slept in the van on the map and wiled away Saturday pm in the public library.
SPS trophic late in the pm - grey & windy, quite nice. And the drabness accentuated leaf colors.
No drive to the CT A meet, a disappointment but also for the better as far as sensibility is concerned. In past 24 hrs, we bought two new used cars, the second just a few hours ago. For as short a time as possible, we have 4 vehicles, three are Saab 9-5 station wagons. Beth replaced her 2001 with a better 2000. My 2008 has been replaced by a 2008 BMW convertible. We both wanted a convertible, toy or not. Helps slow time's onslaught (as does a good training program). Tomorrow back to Portland to finish the interrupted boat delivery, haulout Monday. And then not much, thankfully. Just the A meet in Townsend. Also had an eye doctor appointment today and will have a cataract removed in January.
Ran into more bad weather than noted at the time I was watching weather
and stopped in Portland as a 3-day NEer drenched the coast. Had we made the best of an available 12 hours at the onset (hindsight), we likely would have made it to Portsmouth. Now it looks as though I won't be going to the A meet this weekend. Got a ride to Enterprise car rental from Tony Federer and made it home in pretty good time, all-considering.
