110km full day (took some rolls for lunch) loop for my birthday. Far more climb than expected. The inital climb and the big one were expected but at other times instead of the road following the valley bottom it kept going up and down the sides from one Village to the next and they seamed to alternate between by the main river and a good way up the side of the valley. Average incline of 5.3% tells the tale and looking at the graph there is hardly any time during the ride when the incline is on the zero line. The big climb was tough very stepy lower down though an extended vilage 5% one minute 15%+ the next. Higher up things got a bit more alpine style and it was fairly consistant 9-11% with a bit of a slackening at the top. 9.5% from where the road turned off for about 5km and 470m. Doing the other side would of been harder that was definatly steeper I had some seriously hot disks on the way down.

Saw my first Orchids of the trip which was a good excuse to stop and take some photos half way up a hill.

Had more dodgy heart rate readings. I have edited the data to get the graph aceptable. They were downhills again and on the first one I spoted it real time no aero position or anything, the strap was sucure. I don't realy know what is going on I will try logging the raw data to a seperate file to have somthing to look at. It's too bad I don't have an independent reciver to try and work out if the trouble is at the strap end (or my heart...) or the bike computer end as is more likely.

80km loop on mostly quiet back roads a bit too back roads for 5km when I got lost and had to take to the dirt to get somthing like back on track. Slick tyres not nice on the gravel did not stay on any sort of camber so fairly slow for that bit. Will have to get back online and look at the track to see where I realy went. Was overdressed and got too hot full on bib shorts and short sleaved top tomorrow if it is as nice.

In greese did not sleep well on the boat so a very snoozy morning nice by the sea in the sun and warm. Afternoon went for a spin along the road out soug=th of the Albanian boarder. Went as tarmac a lot further than either of my maps indicated (the descrepancies show I will have some fun) nice little undulating spin.

Just along the sea front and back north of Ancona. Amazing how quick you can go without realy trying given a flat road. Average speed of 29kmh average heart rate of 110 max 128 Good road surface where no potholls. Lots of people out on bikes but no one remotly fast for all the kit.

From top of M.Nerone. Not a cloud in the sky can see for miles. Icy road at the top though and well wrapped up for the decent. Down though Serravale, layers off befor the dig up to Moria then up the back of Mt. Petrano stop for food on top and wrap up again befor decending ther giro acent to Calgi The though Fosto to climb the northern side of mt. Nerone, A very small road but I was past by a car going up and a bike coming down so it was somthing of a shock at about 1000m to find the road unridable with snow. the car was parked here. Would of been OK with nobolies on bu the road slicks were no good so a couple of km pushing till all of a suden the road cleared then 400m further on I got to a junction and road where the snowplow had been so OK to the finish which I pushed hard to. Realy nice day to be out. Should of gone further but I strongly suspect that the third big hill road will be shut with the snow as it was as high as here and there was no big mast to keep the road open for.

Run from top of M. Nerone 1500m. This is the first of the 3 big climbs I did last year from the hard Giro stage. Plan was to do the same route again but starting on this hill. Drove up last night in strong wind and heavy rain. Was some thunder during the night and the rain quientend down. Come the morning the van was coated on every side by snow so no biking. A snowplow came up the road about 11 but it's been snowing on and off all day but the tempretures just above freezing. Went for a small jog before tea, feeling very heavy legged I will blame the Altitude which is enough to be noticable. Down the road and along it along the flatish ridge then back. level 2 35 minutes 5 km 150m
