Orienteering race 1:08:13 [2] 9.95 km (6:51 / km) +275m 6:01 / km

British champs. Trying to avoid errors and be safe as no way I cam push hard with the cold. Follow fence for 1 making it a dog leg. Back early to fence for 2 seemed a long way hesitant a bit. 3 slightly right. 20s. 4 chasing someone fast 5 off bigger clearing to south up to path for 6 slightly to far 20s. 7 clearing made easy attacking. 8 followed clearing down then wall at end. 9 stayed on paths an made dog leg. 10 ok getting in need of a drink but safely no drinks point. 11 did not see Amy option but right on long leg gentle up hill path run was hard. 12 a bit right 10s 13 ok longer 14 decided to just go straight over hill at least a good attackpoint but a big uphill walk climbing 100m. Tiring now and a scrappy line to 15 but there was a big feature just beyond so just kept going and good in the end. Getting stuck in green at 16 should of dog legged it to road 20s.

8th 8 mins off Dave peel not up to that pace without cold maybe top 5? But of course errors more likely with more speed. Fairly pleased considering.

Bok Training Lansdowne. Forgot phone. Down through fields towards school then revers Cotswold way and up to Kelston round hill and back over race course. 6 out including some long time returnees. Really nice evening amazing how hard the ground has become.

7.574km with 108m climb in 0:52:03. Quantocks event. All a bit scrapy nav wise. Mind you a pit in broken ground for no 1 did sum ut up a bit. Mistakes at 1 4 15 16 and 17. Tiring at end.
