Note
slept:11.0 (rest day)

Did nothing today. Started to feel a bit off yesterday afternoon, felt ok running, but no so much in the afternoon. Put my feet up, that was the plan. And did more of the same today. Still not feeling right.

Did go for a stroll in the afternoon down to Killarney House getting ice cream on the way home.

Lovely day out, Summer.

Did 3 laps of Poulnaderka

Felt good running, comfortable. Achilles behaved itself I think so pleased with that.

Hot out today.

slept:6.52 (rest day)

Lovely morning so could be missing out this evening but work night out which we don't have too many of. I suppose if I lived in Tralee then training would be an option, but I don't :-)

Day off will be good ahead of the weekend. Thinking about running tomorrow and cycling on Sunday. Not expecting there to be a club spin in the morning due to Ring of Beara, but if there was I might change my mind.

Circuits 48:11 [3]
ahr:117 max:161 slept:7.4 shoes: Adidas Supernova Black (2015)

3 circuits of 10 stations, 1 minute on

This week 3 of the stations were abs, reverse curl, plank, then bike sit-ups. 3 in a row, that wasn't fun.

Legs felt tired doing the squad jumps, everything else was grand.

Warm in the hall this evening. Might even be my last session there, only a few weeks left and I could miss them.

Spin to work

Felt better starting off today than I did 2 weeks ago, so generally a better spin.

Sun came out after I got to work! But dry and calm morning.

Plenty of traffic on the road but felt busier as far as Farranfore but then the road is wider after there.

The climbing lane felt slow, was remembering the chain gang spins when the lads were trying 40k at 40kph, used to go up here very fast. Didn't feel like it this morning on my own. But wasn't pushing it.

Spin home

Bit more effort this evening on the way back, needed it too as small bit of a breeze blowing. Avg speed up by 2kph than this morning so definitely more of an effort. Lots of Strava PRs on the way home.

Nice evening for a spin home too. My arms haven't seen much sun this year yet it feels.

Went around Woodlawn as knew there was a removal on by the cathedral. Didn't think it would add 4km to the spin. But traffic on the Muckross Road was busy. Started on the new cycling lane, so powered down that before back out. Got by lots of cars doing that. Not sure what the hold up was, probably someone turning right.

Good spin home.

Physio 1:00:00 [0]

Not too fun, left calf is probably slightly tighter than the right! Achilles feeling sore and so were the calves when they were worked on. Just have to keep on fighting!

Note

More volume again this week before an easy week next week, of sorts.

Monday - Running
Tuesday - Physio
Wednesday - Cycling (to work & back)
Thursday - Circuits
Friday - Rest (work night out)
Saturday - Cycling or Running
Sunday - Cycling or Running

Will cycle and run at the weekend, just not certain of the order at this stage. Wouldn't mind another bike race but don't think there's anything on.

80% lap of Muckross, skipped the out and back to the road

Legs feeling mostly ok, could maybe feel achilles a small bit, but wasn't a discomfort.
Towards the end the legs were struggling though, tired, that's despite the HR being well under control.

I tried to keep the pace slow but that definitely wasn't a success.

Nice evening for a run. Plenty of tourists around Muckross House.

Afterwards achilles was fine to walk on (got around mowing the lawn), but very sore to touch. I don't think that's a good sign.
