Not feeling desperate but not feeling great either. If someone slept for a couple of nights it might help prevent this sort of thing happening.

Did make it to Aldi to get some winter cycling gear, on special today. Got socks, tights, gloves and a jacket. So getting ready for the winter.

This explains some of yesterday’s feelings. Feels like another chest infection. May have had a slight cold and it’s gone usual direction.

Weather is not as nice as last week, maybe I should face the reality it's not going to get any better. Did avoid getting wet but there was wind, think more of a tailwind on the way up.

Either way the body wasn't really co-operating as i'd have liked, felt a small bit tired and maybe the lower temperatures didn't help. Sleep has been crap the last while too so that could be having a cumulative affect. Mentally felt ok but that didn't link to the body.

11.10 for Ladies View, so over 11 which isn't ideal, and maybe helped by the wind.

Had a clean run down but the roads up high were damp so took it a bit easier there as a result.

Passed 2 people on push bikes after Derrycunnihy, the girl got a fright as a I passed. I find it funny when that happens running but maybe I shouldn't find it as funny on a bike due to the consequences of what might happen after a firght.

It would be easier to navigate an area of landmines than the road up to the car park! Doesn't bode well for my car as i'm planning the event there at the beginning of November for KerryO so will need a few more trips up there in the coming weeks.

Plan for this visit was to run the trails that aren't on the map and see if I can get them on it. One doesn't really exist so had some bracken bashing for a bit, not too bad. And then coming uphill after coming down from the top was tough, struggled with the steeper bits here.

Did an extra loop to get some proper running done.

Also disappointed to see that NIOC is postponed, all this training for the last 6 months and still no races to use it in!

Had to start later than originally planned as had to make some work calls. Worked out possibly for the better as maybe 20 minutes before I started there was a very heavy shower of rain. Meant the roads were wet so got a lot of spray off them but didn't get rained on. Also found it cold on the bike today. Not too much wind though. Aldi have some bike specials on this weekend, so think I might see what I can get there, definitely need tights, probably a winter jersey and also gloves.

Moving ok, legs feeling good, so happy with the effort.

Bit of traffic on Mission Road on my way back in so took to the bike path to avoid.

May have to change training plans with a wind warning on the way for Kerry tonight, we'll see. Also not going to bike race this weekend, may have other things on, but even then I don't think i'd be confident at the moment in a big bunch start as opposed to starting categories separately.

My mother took the lads for a walk while I ran, handy. Mary at the dentist!

Was nice running, warmer than I expected, but a strong breeze coming off the lakes.

Not sure about my right leg. I’m suspicious about the Achilles. Could sort of feel it but calf ok. Not an issue before or afterwards Can’t do too much more in terms of work on the calves than I already am.

I kept the pace slower than I normally would run this intentionally. I don’t want to train fast until I’m more comfortable that the calves are fixed.
