Note

Well, well, well. Freddie (who otherwise seems v well) has rash on his face suggesting Slapped Cheek virus. Just looked it up to see if any action needed and to my surprise discovered that in adults most common symptom is joint pain esp knees and wrists!!

Friday Aug 26, 2011 #

Note

Knees ache. Wrists ache. Grrrrrr.

Wednesday Aug 24, 2011 #

Note

Achey and shakey and stiff and more than a little fed up. Spent the day in bed. Maybe goal for City Race should just be to get to the start...

Running 33:00 [3] 2.92 mi (11:18 / mi) +9m 11:12 / mi
shoes: Birthday Asics

Lunchtime run on meadow. Had in any case intended to take it slowly, but as it happens I don't think my legs would have carried me any faster - not feeling good!

Have had some quite severe trouble with my lower back/buttocks over the weekend, has eased up a bit now. However I think I am going to have to revise my aim of being able to run hard at the London City Race to simply being able to keep going all the way round the City Race, at whatever speed. Shame. :-(

Running 43:22 [3] 3.83 mi (11:19 / mi) +3m 11:18 / mi
shoes: Birthday Asics

Meadow and nature reserve, back up canal. Pretty darn dark by the end. Have been feeling a bit achey of leg, lower back and hips/buttocks the last few days, with trouble bending over - think it is down to some a few nights in a row with extremely minimal sleep. Not as bad as I had feared during the run, though tired. Didn't feel great afterwards though. See how I am tomorrow.

Running 41:24 [3] 3.84 mi (10:47 / mi) +5m 10:45 / mi

Another nice lunchtime jaunt round the nature reserve. Felt tired after about half an hour but not too bad. Must dig out heart rate monitor from wherever I put it when I unpacked from Scotland.

Down the river to the low bridge, back through nature reserve. Taking it nice and steady. Felt not bad at all actually.

Nice gentle runabout on alternately sunny and drizzly meadow.

Running 36:54 [3] 3.38 mi (10:55 / mi) +4m 10:52 / mi

Out at lunchtime for a (shortened) nature reserve loop. Legs quite heavy from last week, and the whole thing felt fairly effortful!
