City biking 1:30:00 [3] 18.0 mi (5:00 / mi) +20m 4:59 / mi

On a bright but cool and breezy morning, Sari and I biked down to Chinatown at 9am for DimSum. This is a huge Sunday morning operation: half dozen steam-carts circulate past each table, laden with all forms of Chinese delicasies: steamed, fried, pickled, baked, raw. All with various sauces, and bite-sized so can be eaten in one (large) mouthful, or picked apart with chopsticks. Our favorites are the steamed noodle dumplings encasing shrimp, mushroom or pork with a funn sauce...don't ask me what it is.

Afterward a stroll under the big Chinese arch, down Wentworth Street for an $80 pound of green tea, some ginseng root, a gallon of light soy sauce, Chinese broccoli, and fresh winter melon and red bean pastries to take home. Yum!

Quite a fight against the wind coming back, bikes loaded with goodies. During the slow trip, my mind recalled the old saying I'd learned years ago:

CHINESE HEAVEN:
English house
Japanese wife
American salary
Chinese food

CHINESE HELL:
English food
Japanese house
Chinese salary
American wife.

A beautiful morning: brisk and breezy, with the brilliant sun reflecting off the Lake surface as I ran north along the path through Lincoln Park. Lots of other runners and cyclists out, enjoying an early spring morning.

River Oaks GC, Harvey. El-train-bus to the far south side. Chilly morning, warming into 70's. Very comfortable, after a few chilly moments on the el platform at 7am. An unexpected birdie on #7...two good shots into the wind, then a third shot over the bunker, two bounces and in. Those are the memories that keep us coming back!

Afterward a side trip to Flossmoor Station and two bombers of their delicious IPA secure at home...if Soupbone ever visits.

The Glen GC, Glenview. A luxury golf course. Over $100 greens fee, includes cart and range balls. But I didn't use the cart, and took double range balls. Beautiful cool and breezy day.

Didn't shoot too well...was it the GolfTec lessons I'm taking? Always a dilemma...stay with the inefficient swing or try to change. Afterward another 9 holes at Glenview National and then a couple IPA's at The Yardhouse before catching the train/bus back home.
