Stony Creek GC, Chicago Lawn. Took el above marathoners to Midway; then first Sunday bus down to 100th St. Walked railroad tracks until I saw an opportune time to slip past the cyclone fencing into the golf course, thus saving a half-mile walk.

A fabulous day of golf. A big basket of range balls. Then teed off by myself, and sauntered around the 18holes...back and forth across a significant "stony creek." Very sunny, little wind, nicely cool. A perfect day for running a marathon...or playing golf! Shot one of the best rounds of golf ever. No really bad shots! Quite an accomplishment for me. Will have to try it again tomorrow...and the nice thing about it is that...unlike O or marathoning, i can!

Fox Valley GC, North Aurora. 7am train west out of Union Station, then bus, and walk up bike path along the Fox River...a very pleasant morning stroll.

Very hilly. Lots of sloping greens. But I enjoyed the round, and took 9 strokes off of my PR here...even tho I was paired with an insufferable right-wing suburbanite who couldn't drive the ball more than 140yds. I gotta concentrate when playing with golfers worse than I am...doesn't happen too often!

Reshafted Ping G20 Driver. SO much better than my old Mizuno 12 degree driver I used in its absence.

Working on increased turn on backswing for long irons: swing left-handed...Follow-through position should be same at top of right-hand backswing, with right ass-cheek rotated toward target.

Klein Creek GC, Winfield. Just one of over 100 courses I can reach by public transit plus a short walk. In this case, not such a short walk. I screwed up the transit, got on the wrong bus in downtown Wheaton, and had a much longer walk than planned.

But no problem. Teed off by myself at 9am under heavy clouds threatening rain. By the 4th tee the skies were clearing. And after that, not a cloud in the sky! Quite a challenging course. But I adapted to the narrow fairways, water on both sides sometimes, and lots of sand. Knocked my PR on this course down by 12 strokes! And still room for lots of improvement on those few triple-bogey holes where the sand traps got the better of me.
