A beautiful beginning to the Labor Day weekend. Nice run over to the park. Chicago must be full to the brim with tourists this weekend. People everywhere; walking, biking, running, calling for Ubers, sitting in sidewalk cafés in the bright afternoon sun.... The City is ALIVE! And it is nice to see.

Erg rowing 24:27 [3] 5.0 km (4:53 / km)

First row in September...ever! And this completes a 12-month series of monthly rowing sessions since last October. But I plan several more basement sessions this month. Want to get a good jump on the 2016-17 season, since I'm in a new age group now.

Generally I feel sluggish, but strong. No way can I equal the pace that Charlie has been putting up all summer. So I just keep on keeping on. And row more distance instead of more speed.

Saw another local landlord while I was at the bank yesterday and said hello. At first I couldn't believe it was him...all stooped over, limping, barely able to get his rent collections to the teller's window. He's only 7 years older than I am. But he too is an 'active' landlord.

Good for Ben! Still managing his buildings just as I am! But as I swung my leg over my bike to ride home, I mused that Ben was a lesson at how important it is to stay active...thanks to my friends on A/P and locally, who set amazing examples, which provide constant encouragement to 'Just Do It!"
