Got off work early so decided to get my long run in early this weekend. Yes 10K is a long run for me.
Did my 10K loop running on the grass as much as possible. I wasn't pushing it but my first few miles were at a good pace. Then I started feeling it.

Orienteering 1:55:53 [3] 9.5 km (12:12 / km) +385m 10:09 / km
shoes: Falcons 2018

Traffic was bad driving down and I think that set the mood. It was hot (in the 90's) and very humid. I was drenched shortly after starting. I made sure I wasn't pushing it to hard so I wouldn't cramp up in the heat. The woods were generally open visibility but very annoying. All the branches were right at my face level so I was constantly having to bend down. There was also a lot of small sticks so I had to step over. Basically, jump over stuff while hunched over. Not a comfortable run.
I was looking forward to the water stop but the cups were dixie cups which held no water, and the water jugs had no way to pick up and pour. I was dehydrated by the time I finished.
Orienteering wise, I did fine. There weren't large route choice options. Basically it was micro-orienteering. My only mistake was control 3 where I dropped down the wrong spur. Several other people followed me down.
