Are you sneezing or getting itchy where you touch it? I've had a couple of strange sneezes on the trail recently and I wondered if it was an allergy. I get itchy enough in long weeds that I almost always wear calf sleeves on the trails from June to August. That helps but there is still skin exposed (itch, itch).

Yes to sneezing but it's the severely itchy/bumpy/blotchy spots that appear (which happens to be the same when Ryder licks). It's most noticeable when the grass it wet. I try so hard not to give into the itching but it feels so good once you start! Fortunately I don't notice it until I stop. Good idea on the calf sleeves.

Sounds like we react the same way. Some people assume I wear calf sleeves for compression, which seems over the top for shorter training runs. But really, I mostly wear them to protect against itchy weeds and poison ivy, to eliminate the need for sunscreen there and to skip shaving before I run. ;)

P.S. I hope Ryder is D's adorable puppy. If not, I hope Bob doesn't read your log. ;)
