JayXC:
The 2020 FL Sea to Sea kicked off at 11:00a today. They're heading west to east this year and can expect some pretty cold conditions. The first paddle has already been cancelled due to the wind.

Tracking can be found here: http://live.enabledtracking.com/S2S2020

There's a number of AP'ers competing including DML and Sony on Untamed New England, StrongMachine and glewis on Strong Machine as well as Work4justice on Girls Will Survive. It seems like forever since there's been a race to follow.

Mr Wonderful:
Thanks for the info! Interesting choices on the bike to 10, the non paved road doesn't look too bad on satellite but who knows on the ground.

JayXC:
I suspect the smaller non-paved roads are all sand, some rideable some not.

Seems some of the trackers are fading in and out of connection. Strong Machine is one for sure (which of course I'm noticing in particular, but seems there are a few others). Hopefully the RDs will update the scoreboard occasionally so CP tallies are accurate. Otherwise it will be tough to follow since there are so many CPs (!!) and difficult to confirm who is on full course.

Friday afternoon: looks like teams are approaching Newnans Lake.

(on the bike after Alachua o-course)
1. ARGeorgia
2. Strong Machine
3. TanZ
4. Untamed

(in an o-course SE of Alachua)
5. Team Disoriented, Sites Set on the East, No Complaints, Adventure Capitalists, McGinley Ortho, 4050 AARP

i remember paddling across Newnan's Lake in 2015 and it was v memorable! dark, night 2?, windy, hallucinations, cold...awesome.

The wind on Newman lake was no joke! 0/10 would not paddle board again.

You had me at paddle board.

Work4justice:
Glad I could kayak instead of paddle board. I would have ditched it and hiked the cypress swamp.

Thought about doing that, but I was committed to it after I turned the corner

That was a fun one! @glewis is working on the race report as I'm still trying to dig myself out of my writing backlog, with Eco-Challenge (and 2 Rivers 2019 :) still mostly unwritten. Should be a good one - it was very tight racing out there, with a lot of interesting strategic decisions that we were lucky enough to have pay off for us.
