Discussion: Roamer, plot UTMs, 1:50000

Does anyone else use a roamer to plot UTMs?

I made a very simple DIY 1:50000 roamer but the accuracy is questionable and I find it difficult to align it accurately.

So I'm wondering where to buy one. Any suggestions?

AMZN will certainly hook you up, although I'm sure there are smaller map specific vendors.

Although I tend to avoid races with plotting, except for Extreme O at the Georgia Navigator Cup, where it's always on mapped features so doing, say 4465 5280 is more than good enough to plot it as, 2/3rds of the way over and 3/4ths of the way up = yep that looks like a hill alright, done.
