We had no heat or light, but our gas stove worked, so we had a big Sunday dinner party too. Margi made a huge pot of soup to warm everyone up.

Felt like the Road Warrior, out in large packs looking for gasoline, unsuccessfully today. Now not enough in the car to support another unsuccessful search, so our generator time may be limited.

So I guess I was smart to gas up the car in anticipation of the trip to JFK. Never would have thought that would be an issue. I think there were some gas stations open around us, but less so on the drive down.

A few gas stations were open around here, but with long lines. Our problem was not having D cell batteries for flashlights, which of course were sold out everywhere by Sunday morning. I was using my Lupine for wandering around the house, and reading.

Ditch all your D cell flashlights, get LED ones that use AAAs. Much more satisfying, and they cost only a buck or two apiece. I have them all over the place (various rooms, in the car, in my hang gliding bag...).

Wow, had no idea things were so crazy up there! Fingers crossed at least one of fuel or electricity gets sorted soon

We've been living by LEDs. Store had lots of AA and aaa batteries. And candles and a gaz lantern.

We did a little better acquiring gas, so plenty for the generator to last through tomorrow. We are only running it sparingly, maybe 3 or so hours in the morning, 4 or so in the late afternoon and evening. I don't really expect power until after we leave town.

Saw the first utility crews this afternoon working towards W Simsbury. And reports are that Hopmeadow St has power.

Power along 44'in Canton, mostly. No discernible action on the mountain, although there are a lot of utility trucks parked at Cherry Brook School.
