And a hammer instead of a 14th club? Somehow I don't picture chitown lugging 14 around anyway. A number of other possibilities:
-just hit 'em off the deck, being an accomplished practitioner of the sport.
-they sell little winter tees that just sit on the ground.
-old fashioned approach, bring a small bag of sand with you and make your own as you go.

Some good suggestions! I'll look for those "winter" tees. And I like the concept of a pyramid of damp sand; imagine Bobby Jones carefully sculpting his tee at the proper height while the whole gallery patiently waited.
Stainless steel tees would be a great hazard the way I swing, both to my driver's face and any bystanders. I've occasionally discovered my wooden tees embedded down the fairway like tent pegs. Imagine metal!
