Discussion: XT S-LAB 5

I know you are a fan of version 4. Can you comment on how the 5s differ? Have you had a chance to try them? I tried a pair on and the fit/ shape was decent for me. I'd like to be able to get into Salomons again for AR and ultra running, after having had many good years of AR in them many years ago.

The S-LAB XT 5 and S-LAB XT 5 SOFTGROUND have a different last than their predecessors. The reason for the change had to do with our athetes wanting a more precise fit. There are a few more minor updates but nothing fundamental. I have a pair of the SOFTGROUNDs coming to me shortly so I'll have a better sense of how they perform for larger, heavier folks!

The S-LAB XT 6's have a really cool update for FW13 that takes inspiration from an SS13 shoe called the SENSE MANTRA. The guy who won the UTMB this year used a proto version and loved the fit.

Well, if the 5s work for me, they'll be worn out in time to get some 6s :). Kinda cool that we get to see a year into the future, through you.
