Want to go up north and ski with me next weekend?

I wish I could! My hubster of love is out of town until Friday (been a week so far) and we have Christmasing to do...invite me again though, probs January.

If you come in January, it will involve a race!!! Actually, I FULLY EXPECT to see you at the Frosty Freestyle and/or Krazy Klassic. I personally am not a fan of spelling things with "K"s that should start with a "C" but I let it slide and still participate in this race. It's down by you, which is nice!

We can tie some steamers up for that weekend if you are interested. Ski o at Maybury or foot o anywhere.

By the way, people are becoming aware of your "Hubster of Love"'s plan to take over the world (or the Dow Corning cafeterias.) I told them that if they have any feedback on it, I have the necessary connections.

Oh yes indeed you do! And that's where he is right this minute! I told him to say hi to you and he mentioned you would be a welcome sight!

Tell him to text me if he wants to grab lunch! I'm at the corporate site.

Will do! You can quiz him on gear...lol!

And now back to skiing....you piqued my interest with the Klassy Klassic/Frosty Freestyle. Which would you suggest for a first race? (Classic) I know they are different distances (12k/15k), but is one more suitable for a absolute amateur?

The frosty has a beginner 5k! That's the perfect first ski race. If you really enjoy it, you can come out the next day as well. Check out the ski schedule. http://www.nordicskiracer.com/news.asp?NewsID=1520...
Another good one is the Cote Dame Marie Loppet, which has an 8K "Citizens Division" if you don't want the 15K Michigan Cup race. http://www.graylingnordic.com for more info
Also, check out: http://www.hansonhills.org/Nordic_Skiing.html for Hanson Hills (my favorite trail)

Knowing me, I would not drive 90+ minutes for a 5k, but maybe for 12k or 15k. We'll see what the next few weeks bring.....
Thanks for the ideas. Never a dull moment.

You don't have to do the 5K, I was just making it sound more "accessible." Do the long race!!

If you drive to Bay City, you can ride the rest of the way with me to other races. IN FACT, we can get all the IFFACers over and have a slumber party at my house before going to the ski race!

I need to get a few miles on some groomed trails before I tackle too many more crazy ideas.

Captain President Hilary orders a slumber party, though! (maybe I can get used to this) :)

Set a date.....and if it is a Fail on skiing due to warm weather, we can bring our bikes.

OK! January 17 in the evening everyone can come up. Then, we can go to the Cote Dame Marie on Jan 18 and then fun ski on the 19th with free lessons from me! (I may need to get a long classic ski in, though, because I have a 51K race the next week)
