~30km at ~5min/ks... wow, the force runs strong in you these days Dolf.
It actually felt pretty comfortable at that pace. The force hasn't been too good the last few days with a slightly sore leg since Sunday. I figured a few days off would be best & it seems fine now after some needle torture from the physio.
Back to it with a short run tomorrow & one of those funny 'not a real sport' events on the weekend (at a slightly slower pace).
You're doing a rogaine, wow! Who with? I've not measured the total course distance yet and unlikely to now without a hand but I reckon you could go around 110km.
With Jacko. I reckon I could go around 110km, but I'd probably only get 100pts while doing it.
We'll be doing a few loops, plan is to test out some nutrition & use gear I'll be using for the WTF.
Umm, hmm a few loops hey? Well I hope you can find a few ways in and out of the HH! Anyway just check all the watercourses and gullies you go past and you'll probably find a few controls just through pot luck.
Not that sort of gear tRicky.
My current 10km PB for the last 14 months or so is 56 something - I'll let you know when I get it down to Dolf pace. *Note: 2km of that run is downhill too, so I should be even faster than Dolf 30km pace.
Still much quicker than Dolf race pace!
You haven't put the HH on the edge of the map have you tRicky?
I haven't done a romaine in this area before, but heard it's possible to get a beer during the rogaine, is the Tavern on the map?
It was on the version that I ran on in 2007 and on the version that is floating around at school (more recent)
No the HH is sort of NE central and the pub is off limits, well off the map anyway. We have other surprises in store involving healthy breakfast cereals! Well actually it's not really a surprise since it was all in the newsletter.
Can't be too far. Probably still worth the visit :) not stopping there was my big regret from my new norcia race
It was right on the edge and I've been told some teams went there.
Was Legend one of them? At the last NN event Argy and I made a pretty direct line for the pub and he was already settled in for the duration by the time we got there. Didn't know the old buzzard could still move that fast.
Legend was at the event in no official capacity (i.e. he wasn't in a team or there as a volunteer). He brought his granddaughter along to work in admin, then he went out for a walk to some controls (Tash told him which ones had the best scenery and I don't think the pub was included in that) and did one or two patrols with others later as well as collecting controls afterwards and moping over Essendon's loss.
