RouteGadgetSo much better than yesterday! I was well-rested and fueled. Going into the race my primary focus was on knowing when to slow down and put my nose to the map. My word of the day was precision, I actually said it out loud a few times when I needed to slow myself down (e.g. leaving the trail to 3 and approaching the middle-esque part of the course from 10-13). My plan paid off and I also felt really great physically. I still had oxygen left in my brain to handle the late technical controls like 15, but my tank was nearing empty when I reached the end of the finish chute - that's how I want to finish my races!
Looking at the RouteGadget and splits I'm happy with my route choices to 3 and 6, though I do need to work on making a decision faster. I'm slow out of those two controls compared to others. My biggest mistake was poor execution of control 8 which cause me 2+ mins. I also bobbled 6 and 14 because I was distracted by others in the woods and didn't pay enough attention to my compass on entry.
