IRVOC meet :"Orange" course at Comlara Park, Bloomington, IL.. Comlara would be a great park for a sprint, but the map needs substantial improvement. Thunderstorms before the meet and rain during, made this a wet adventure. Warm with 100% humidity meant fogged glasses were a constant annoyance. Heading to #1, I found that the lightest green on the map meant crawling through honeysuckle bushes and the like. Grrr. Number 4 was a very long road and trail run (1.2 km into 4, another 1.7 km all road & trail to #5). Then, 4 turned out to have been mis-placed, so after spending at least 6 minutes trying to figure out where else the bag might be, I was pretty discouraged. The meet had decent attendance, including a JROTC unit from nearby Pekin.

Miami Univ Natural Areas - 2 loops of Bachelor Pine & East loops, plus 2 loops of Reinhart Preserve. Conditions are very dry and the trails felt quite hard and compacted.

Slow walk cool down after trail run. I normally don't time and record most of my cool down & stretching, but that doesn't mean that it is not important!
