Note
(injured)

I still feel the ankle but it’s not that bad of a pain. It is, however, very hard to balance on my right leg with both the knee and ankle injuries, so I’m going to have to take even more time off now.

Cycling 1:26:46 intensity: (14 @0) + (18:09 @1) + (25:22 @2) + (42:11 @3) + (50 @4) 21.75 mi (15.0 mph) +133m
ahr:143 max:172 (injured)

I had a more interesting route planned but the clouds looked deeply foreboding so I just turned around. First time riding with clip-in shoes, it felt really nice once I got the hang of it.

Run 43:07 intensity: (1:04 @2) + (29:29 @3) + (12:34 @4) 6.06 mi (7:07 / mi) +29m 7:01 / mi
ahr:165 max:177 (injured) shoes: HOKA Clifton 8

Almost 90F, which might explain why I perceived this as much easier than what the HR data says. Felt mostly back to normal except for sprinting, which I still annoyingly feel on the R knee. Slightly twisted my ankle midway which ordinarily would subside immediately but it lingered until the end of the run, which was a bit concerning.

(injured)

I think I'm mostly good to go now, but I'll probably give it one more day. Still feel it when I bend my knee all the way.

Note
(injured)

Hit my knee while attempting to vault a guardrail while picking up controls. I'm gonna guess that I'll need a week off. So much for mountain week, but really I'm not feeling too beat up about it. It would've been fun, but rest is important too. And there's no rest like injury rest because injury rest is not optional.

It felt pretty okay while orienteering yesterday after hitting it, but I just woke up with too much pain to even go running comfortably.

Run warm up/down 5:54 intensity: (3 @0) + (51 @1) + (3:40 @2) + (1:20 @3) 0.74 mi (7:58 / mi)
ahr:140 max:156 shoes: NVII Forest 2

Orienteering 52:35 intensity: (14 @1) + (12 @2) + (1:00 @3) + (50:55 @4) + (14 @5) 5.51 mi (9:33 / mi) +209m 8:32 / mi

Pretty hot outside, I was dripping in sweat by the end. Didn't see 3 in the reentrant so I turned only to turn back. Almost didn't see 7 on the map. Slowed down too soon for 10 thinking I saw a smaller reentrant it could be.

The big ones: climbed the hill SW of the river next to 12 for absolutely no reason. Attempted to cross at the "white" in the marsh between 13 and 14, and lost 2 minutes fighting only to turn around. Ran to the right reentrant for 15 but a guy in front of me looked at that reentrant then abruptly changed direction so I thought there's no control in there, only to turn around and find it because it was in fact there.

Orienteering 34:56 intensity: (3 @0) + (1:06 @1) + (4:43 @2) + (24:14 @3) + (4:50 @4) 3.04 mi (11:30 / mi) +117m 10:16 / mi
ahr:157 max:174 shoes: NVII Forest 2

Picking up controls. Banged my knee. Felt bad right away, but I stopped for a bit and it subsided the more I ran, so I decided it felt good enough to orienteer on.
3 PM

Orienteering 1:12:15 intensity: (1:57 @2) + (33:57 @3) + (36:21 @4) 4.87 mi (14:50 / mi) +373m 11:59 / mi
ahr:167 max:183 shoes: NVII Forest 2

Greg's course at Mt Tom, had to cut it short to make it back in time for dinner. The knee felt fine warming up so I decided to go out but be careful with footing and the downhills. It's awfully hard to run at speed there anyways, not because of the climb but because of the endless shallow layer of deadfall.

I was a little confused by 2 because the cliff didn't seem that distinct from the others immediately around it. On the way to 4, I probably should've climbed once I hit that first stream E of the line from 6 to 7 to avoid the rocky hillside, rather than contour underneath the cliffs. Didn't even recognize that I would be crossing a stream junction on the way to 7 so I slowed way down to check everything out, thinking that I might be near the junction 7 was actually placed at. Decided it didn't make sense after 3ish minutes of standing around, then found it at the right junction. I didn't think I deviated that for for 9, I don't recall having to run parallel to the hillside for that long to find it, I thought I dropped right into it.

Cycling 1:09:37 intensity: (5:17 @1) + (1:03:33 @2) + (47 @3) 18.63 mi (16.1 mph) +52m
ahr:133 max:153

Couldn't stand and pedal because of the knee.

ahr:164 max:185

I was gonna do more but Mori and Nils got back later than expected and I got very tired in the sun. I saw the spur SW of 9 in real life but not on the map so I got confused and had to stop for a second. Slightly off to 13. Stopped paying attention on the way to the finish.
