Proper gravel ride from Rhigos taking in lots of of forests that I'd not visited before. Planned the route to give me plenty of climb, and it didn't disappoint. Feeling much stronger on the bike than the past few weeks, but not strong enough to do an extra 10km loop at the end. Nice day but quite cold.

Sweeping the Cribyn fell race, with Darren for company. The slower runners had a 15 minutes head start so the expected easy pace wasn't, and struggled to keep the tail enders in sight. Found the steep climbs very hard work. Caught the first slower runner just before the summit of Cribyn. but then got a message at the checkpoint that a runner had started late. Waited about 15 minutes but as he didn't turn up, we split up to see if he could be found (misty on above about 600m). Darren retraced our steps with Alan, Jonny stayed at the CP and I carried out. Found him on the summit of Pen y Fan, having climbing the wrong hill from the valley. Easy trot down the ridge to the finish (testing on the knee and untrained quad though|) picking up loads of water bottles that a group of Asians were leaving behind them.

Note

Unplanned rest day becuase it was wet and cold out and I didn't have the motivation to push through that.

Wednesday Apr 10 #

Note

Planned rest day for the knee after four days of use. Doing okay, noticeable running yesterday but fine in the evening and today.

MDC to the Lonely Shephard. Lovely evening bit surprisingly cold and windy, so glad I had the jacket, 3/4 lengths and buff to run in. Body wouldn't get moving, so didn't enjoy the running aspect, but the evening and location were great. A couple of cool rocks and lots of lambs about the run, also comical synchronised slip and fall with Martyn.

Run - Trail 55:02 intensity: (9 @0) + (1:10 @1) + (15:17 @2) + (26:32 @3) + (11:54 @4) 9.15 km (6:01 / km) +111m 5:40 / km

After work trot. Not feeling fast but moving okay. Unsurfaced paths all very wet and muddy.
