Trail Run race 4:42:00 [5] 25.5 km (11:04 / km)

Bummer...when we got our punchcard back for the day we found out we forgot to punch one CP the day prior. UGH and it was a far one. We decided as a team we were not going to get, we knew that we got it, although it would look like we did not clear the course although we did.

Most of the CPs were blazed in so it was faster moving (although we did not run as I am not sure I could have) We had several snowmobile runs (back on the tow I went).

Again, perfectly executed, 2nd place overall (Congrats gstix/hermes) (okay in our minds we were 2nd, I am not sure of the posted standings yet).

My teammates rocked! Nice sunny drive home.

Oh...good news, cortisone shot blocked the pain pathway for my neuroma, I still feel the nerve but no pain...lets hope it lasts until Ireland.

Trail Run race (SNOWGAINE ) 8:42:00 [5] 42.0 km (12:26 / km)

A Month ago committed to this. We were a team of 4 and unfort a couple days prior a team of 3. Mr. Gally and Harps and I got the maps and they worked their strategy magic.

Right off the bat it was obvious our strategy was the same as gstix/hermes. Good news they were breaking trax through the crazy thick snow, bad news for my navigators as it was WT navigating so every time they picked a direction it was the same as WT, so it may got a little boring for them

There are 3 important things in a 8 hour day, drink/eat/fitness. If I was good at the first two, I knew I could suffer the last and my teammates would help me through or amend the strategy. Every snowmobile trail or road run I happily took the tow rope to keep us moving.

I was working 100%, but at no point was I miserable or wanted to go home (okay maybe for a minute I was working on excuse why I could not race day 2).

We ended the day 30 seconds late which gave us a 3 minute penalty. I think we achieved 95% of what we planned. Pretty happy with that.

Back to our AWESOME hotel and awesome beds and awesome food!

Note

Cortisone shot in foot for Morton's neuroma. 50/50 that it will ease pain. I will know tomorrow.
