one of the hardest trail sections anywhere. 100% twisty technical narrow singletrack overgrown. just awful.


two little sof flasks of water and 250ml of coconut water + 80cals.
maybe 40oz of water and 150 cals total? so dumb
was never hungry just DEHYDRATED
hard to keep HR under 150 - walked most steeps

really dead on return
so many trees to climb over and under, technical
made for mental test. stopped a couple times to sit and hold my head for 10 seconds or so.

somehow nearly impaled my left knee jumping over tree #??
just a cut but branch went right into VMO/patella. at least it’s the opposite side of the surgery site.

put air in rear tire just after turnaround

pushed it a bit. -56 R/T then added an out and back to st elmo to get 1hr at least. plenty of accelerations > 400-450w

line picking on a gravel bike is esp critical at 205-210lbs

felt strong AF at start - long layoff

feels soooo much better. 12mm heel drop is crazy but it has always worked, injury free

fighting off a bug - not bad but run down all weekend and mild sore throat just started.

Returning invincible tomorrow. Kinda garbage - sole has delaminated on one side, under heel, 4” of it! big cuts and chunks out of the sides. and running in these is just slow and dangerous for ankles/knees. add zero traction and they are wtaf shoes

It’s been almost a year!

super annoying - Wahoo Bolt would not pick up HR or GPS/distance at first. Wore apple watch 6 for comparison.
Once bolt started, it kept auto-pausing AGAIN, now on descents too - ??. Then forgot to un-pause apple watch at turnaround until I hit top of the stabber climb from Insurance bluff
