Quick dash around the Dunbar lockdown O MapRun course in the snow, with a decent amount still falling. Was trying to do map memory (gloves being incompatible with using phone to see the course, despite having various e-touch gloves), but screwed that up at the first control going to the wrong shed (cursed by local knowledge meaning I didn’t look properly at where I was meant to be going). Was straightforward after that.

Knee was fine but my left hamstring didn’t like the slipping and sliding, and started complaining early on, so was a slow painful trudge towards the end. Still fun though.

Nairn Turkey trot 5km - with niggles was undecided whether to bother or just walk it, but given the cold snowy conditions decided I’d be better off getting it over and done with quickly. Stuck 22 mins down as my predicted time as I didn’t think I’d get under 20 so went conservative.

Set off at the back of the second group which quickly trailed the three leaders who were flying (16:29 winner on a slippery course), and moved my way through half the group in the first half, but couldn’t quite catch a handful ahead in the second half particularly with a big last km push.

Felt comfortable despite photos looking otherwise, with pacing good at 3:57, 3:58, 4:02 (stairs), 3:54, 3:35. While almost a minute slower than I’ve previously done here, it was much quicker than I thought I currently had in the tank given the past 7 months - and very pleased to keep it that steady based purely on feel. Plus the knee held up fine - maybe I need to up the pace on all my running.
