Amazing fun. Jus went for an easy one so did first interesting bit then path run from checkerboard to the south. Ended up with Tam and Jack. Tam running quicker but I would manage to sneak into quite a few controls first. Some mistakes still.

Highland Wolf Mass start race.

Awesome race. Amazing what you can do with a fun little area some good planning and a pretty stacked field.

Nailed my gaffle to 1 and leading my pack. Unfortunately it was the long one (honest) and was about 15th but moved up quickly and then myself and Kris seemed to be only ones heading left at Butterfly. Then I spent a long time trying to hold on to Kris. Ended up pulling out a lead (~15sec) on others (except Carcas) but blew it on a hesitation and Kris got away. Then on last loop had different gaffle to Carcas and we popped out together heading to 2nd last control. He shot away and I didn't really chase. Unfortunately we both ran straight past it and by the time I realised and turned around Felly was punching and Murray just there. Nailed it after Felly but fell and now had Murray just behind so trying to sprint for 2nd but also to hold 3rd. Run in was too wiggly for any changes to happen.

Feeling pretty naff in general. Enjoyed the forest bits but then it became more running based after picking a route and I just got slower and slower.

Realised afterwards was very dehydrated which probably didn't help.

DNF of a session today. I don't feel tired but have trained a lot and also up at 4:30 this morning along with having some shivers last few evenings. Maybe something underlying. I am really just hoping I'm not this unfit but it may be.

Tried to do k's(2) managed 3:01,03,07 then a 73 400 before having to stop. Then 3 400s in 72-75 before giving in.

Also need to sort calfs out. Very tight.

Calves are really bad after treadhills and track. Hoping grass at KF would help. Did a 22min tempo then joined the boys for a couple of 6min reps. The tempo was horrid but then feeling much better with some company.

Solid runs by Jamie and Nathan put me out in 5th about 10sec behind an Irish team and 3min to Nixon.

Went past Irish very quickly and then just pushed hard. Pretty sore and tired but dug in and the nav was good enough in a fun area. Some wobbles in some vague stuff but nothing major. Then about 4 short controls from the end saw Nixon standing still. "I've been here for 5min". I knew where we were and so about 5sec later dropped into control.

Went into head to head mode so dropped the pace and led going very slowly and constantly looking behind. Then when I saw the second to last control I dropped the hammer and went for it a long way out. Unfortunately Nixon didn't give up until a bit up the run in so made it quite painful but job done.

What I didn't realise afterwards was everyone had different gaffles for 2nd to last control. Luckily Nixon and I had the same but didn't factor this in equation.

Nice to win overall for England too.

Rather worried about this with the knee but took some painkillers and got on with it. I struggled to begin with in the rough stuff. Got into it after 20min and had a good 40min section and caught sight of Shminty who was 3min ahead and started chasing hard. Finally caught up when they missed slightly.

Tried to keep pushing but realised I was starting to die in terrain and Shminty was moving along so held on and then was fine again once we hit some more runnable stuff.

Happy with 3rd as thoguht that was the best I was going to be able to do. Both knees ended up being sore but manageable.

Should sort out my climbing before Switzerland and FRA's at least

ESOC ultrasprints. Good fun again. Felt so awful from the off probably due to lack of WU. On 3rd one I did the longest course and Laura was on shortest so went so deep to try and beat her. Incredibly grim but running at a sort of respectable pace. Then a fairly clean maze makes it 8 from 8 over last 2 years.
Knee sore but best it's been. Confident about SHI completion. Less confident about my fitness.

Definitely no Caerketton though :(

Knee still sore but decided to see if I could run. Wasnt ideal but managed. Also went rockpooling and found a rock stack. Climbed up a bit then got scared then realised I was a bit stuck. Made it down in the end.
