Blencathra up sharp edge with Sasha. Pretty windy with variable gusting. Edge was a bit sketchier than I expected in the wet so slow but only a couple moments I got scared which is pretty good for me. Got cold on top so came straight off from the summit that was also a very technical descent.
Very much needed and enjoyed hot drink at Beth's cafe afterwards.

Aiming for 3:33s so plan was 3:30s out (tailwind) and 3:36s back. First one felt pretty easy. Starting the second one I realised why. Really had to grind for first couple of k of it then got in a rhythm from 2-6 then last couple of k were tough again.

Broxburn East District XC

Fun race after Laura's cracking 3rd by going off hard decided to do the same and was even leading until the hill. Then into 5th before completely Verstappening Eddie and some Central guy outbreaking them diving on the inside on this steep slippy slope into 90 degree bend. Nearly locked up and went into the crowds but just held it. Into 3rd 2/3rds way round 1st lap and it just slowly stretched ahead and behind. Was a fun race finding the best lines on some very slippy fast corners throughout though. Sandwiched between Sasha and Eddie again.

Well spent the day extremely exhausted and feeling pretty bad. Maybe something is a bit wrong. Started on an easy run with Laura but felt pretty bad. Turned round then got so much worse and had to pretty much walk home. Not sure what it is but maybe some kind of minor food poisoning or illness.

Really nice run around some Warrington trails having a good catch up with PBray. 14k WU before (to which Laura said "What! That is even longer than Murray does!") then parkrun which felt okay just grinding it out on a fun little course. Then another 10 to make it my long run as not sure how much sleep and alcohol will happen tonight.

By myself so went for some less sociable and less existent paths. Straight up the side of black was grim with less trod more heather and tussocks. Then very wild on top with wind and fog and it being a flat empty bogland. Found a trod down. Not where I was heading but was nice.
Top of Carnethy was insane. I could barely move in the wind and also could only see about 1m with thick fog at night. After crawling down the rest was a bit tamer thankfully.

Nice and easy in Pentlands with Peter. Glad to do a Pentlands run not including Allermuir, Caerketton and Castlelaw. Nice running in the dark and with fog coming in occasionally made for a very peaceful time.

Scottish Unis XC 5th.

Fun race. Started off what felt easyish and was with Carcas by ourselves 10-15m off a massive group of about 10. Only knew two of them so was feeling confident and quickly it split on the up and down. Just slowly working my way through and halfway through the race I was into 5th. Put in a dig to catch Sasha and Alex and was 10-15m down but paid for it and then just sort of ground it out in no-mans land. Constant checking behind for a closing Eddie but luckily had enough of a gap not to worry too much.

Solid Scottish unis of 10th(dodgy ankle) ,5th,6th and 5th. Nothing like consistency. Well maybe getting better would be nice.
