Solid runs by the rest of the team sent me out in 10th but in quite a big gap with Chorlton being the closest about 20s behind. Quite a twisty course so spent most the time trying to optimise my line and let the legs do the running. Felt good, finished 10th and importantly should of done enough to make the teams for nationals in 2 weeks.
GPS k splits look stupid, no idea what the actual length was.

Silver medal for the first team. We were 2nd B team but we're also behind Leeds C.

Luckily my legs felt pretty good running so I had a great time out there.

Dales Weekend Day 1 - Langstrothdale Chase

Well this area was pretty tough. Just constant very deep tussocks with very little else.
On the plus side my ankles survived even if I was a bit cautious at times and I managed to keep going so a good training. Luckily the sun was shining else it might not have been much fun.

I had eyed up a nice two trig ridge (flat plateau) loop run from the event to make the most of being somewhere new.
Left pretty much straight after I finished. Enjoyed the first 30 minutes then the wheels started falling off and legs completely buckled.
An absolute slog with a fair amount of walking/shuffling towards the end.
Too much terrain and not enough food I suspect.

Longshaw Sheepdog Trials FR - 1st

Lovely burn up round Burbage. Aim was to go off hard and get some racing feelings/pain as Bradwell was very painful and want to get a bit more accustomed to that.
I set off hard and Steve Franklin came with, luckily he was also on the limit and dropped him on the first descent. Nice route and kept pushing well until the final horrible finish field where I probably could of given more but it was pretty grim.

Finished and was like how the hell did Nathan and Ben do two minutes quicker in 2019! Turns out this course was longer at the end. Looks like I was 5-10s behind at the road crossing at around 8k before the courses diverged so probably not on for the record but closer than first imagined.
