In the first team with the illnesses. Get out of pre-start to see Charlotte go through just behind Lina and then hear that is 1st and 2nd! Awesome stuff.

Went out in 4th and worked hard at the beginning and got on the back of Tim and Max with a nice little car park route to 3. Then I just stuck in the group not contributing much but being aware of what we were doing.
I had seen the good route to 11 but chose to stick on the back of Tim and Joey which was a mistake then got confused to 12 and 13 as I was probably in the red a bit and trying to hang on too much. Lost maybe 20s in mistakes here and dropped back.

13 to the finish I did my own navigating and was fine, missed the best route to the last control but nothing major.

Annoyed at the mistakes as it had the opportunity to be a very solid relay run as the legs finally felt good today and it really wasn't very technical at all.

Nathan and Meg then had some good performances to get us up to 4th nation and a first WC podium.

A bit of a surreal experience being on a WC podium for myself, it was always going to be possible in a good relay team, but still happy not to have blown the opportunity when it came around.

A nice end to a mixed world cup performance wise for myself but like in 2019 it's been great fun and enjoying being back with the team again.

A super fiddly sprint that was only 9 minutes long. Suited me well and I did my preferred aggressive orienteering just staying enough of ahead of myself to not make any big mistakes.
Reverse starting order and I was 11th and would be very happy to beat any of the 10 ahead of me.
Even with a good race I knew it was going to be a tough qualification but after smashing the last descent Murray was sounding very excited as I ran in and heard I was 3rd (or 4th) on the commentary and from there was pretty much guaranteed a spot in the quarters.
14 seconds ahead of 13th so a super tight qualifying window unsurprisingly.

Very happy with the result and nice to know my technical orienteering is in a really good place. Just need the individual races to be more like these KO quals. Had great races both here and in Switzerland in 2019.

In a pretty stacked heat but knew I just wanted to put myself in a position to compete. Picked A on the runners choice but we all came out together as 6. I just stuck in about 3rd through all the gardens as the group split a few times but mostly coming together.
In 4th heading on the long leg to 10. I went round the bottom which was fine as a choice but just got outrun and then slowly dropped more until the finish and took a foot off when there was no chance of catching 5th.

Nothing else I could of done just need a bit more speed endurance, same thing happened in Denmark.

Bit of a shitshow of post-race quarantine as on the live results the top 3 were dq'd but turned out this was just an IT error.

Then quite a while after the race turns out Soren and Kaspar had jumped a hedge and possible others jumped an uncrossable crag.
Soren jumped back over the hedge and pretty much ended his race by doing this and dropping way off.
I was on the other RC with others so didn't know this happened.

The hedge was tiny and not taped so the organisers decided to let Kaspar remain in the results. The Austrians with our support wanted to protest so it went to Jury decision but because none of us were aware what happened (this mechanism needs improving) it wasn't until quite soon before the semi's that this got going and it was too late then apparently.
Also not helped by us being in quarantine without any maps or ability to talk to team staff in the arena.
Feel like Soren and Matthias got pretty hard done by in the end.
Then of course the stupidity continued with the men's Semi -> Final issues.

Aside from that had an absolute blast watching Ralph and Meg do amazing.

After doing some analysis looks like I got four poor routes with an execution mistake on two of them. This led to around 20-25s of mistakes.
On the other legs I chose a good route even if not the absolute best.
This is a pretty good technical performance considering how many routes there were and most the time loss today was physical.

A bit disappointed to be so far off some of my performances in 2019 but it's not been a great couple of years for the running including the last 6 weeks. Encouraging the technical skills are still pretty good though.

Fun park to begin with but completely messed the route to 4. Missed the crossing point on the uncrossable point and did a long route round.
There was a lot to handle with description reading, bridges/multilevels and I stopped at 3 but still didn't get everything before I commited to a route. Lost 20s.
Really good through town and then another route-choice mistake leaving the park a second time.
Just scraped through.

I had no choice in the runners choice (no.36) but was really happy with my heat in the end. Split 3/3 to one and our group led. We all left 3 wrong into the dead end corner and I turned and went back. Same time at 4 but I had some momentum so was near the front.
Kaspar, Piotr and I did the wiggle to 5 but it was much slower and the others were out of sight. Heading to 7 and realised there was only two ahead and the race was on.
I had the lead and pushed really hard but turned out my route was slower to 8 and Kaspar appeared at the last control at the same time but managed to outkick him and make it :)
Super happy.

Just stuck in the group. Loic occasionally took some different routes but altogether very much just a big group, was comfortably with everyone at 8 but completely outrun on the long leg.
Not sure there was much I could of done given the style of the course. I don't have the running speed at the moment and needed the techy stuff at the end to be in with a shot.

Final 21st. I came here for the town style route choice sprints and got exactly what I wanted.

Tried to be more aggressive and push today. Good run, maybe a couple of minor route choice mistakes but a good technical performance.

Foot was much worse on this than this morning.
