Trail run with Jacko & Zara.
We put my old garmin on Zara's collar, she did about 600m more than us and had a top pace of 2:28/km when chasing kangaroos.
Nice cruisy but steady effort tonight.
I had a bit of a brain lapse on the return leg when I noticed my HR% was at about 84 on a relatively flat section. I thought Jacko must have upped the pace quite a bit, we eased off and my HR was at 88, Jacko was in the low 80's and I was starting to think my HR belt was playing up from the zip of my shirt. A little further up the trail I was at 94, then 95, then I realised ... I had changed the screen of my watch to show ascent instead of HR% & it was going up as we climbed the hill. I was relieved to see I wasn't going to have a heart attack and we had a good laugh, and I'm sure that's the last we will ever talk about it.
On the return we ran into Vic, the owner of the dog that got run over a few months back. We had a quick chat and were back on our way.
Most of the return run was in light rain but it wasn't a problem until we finished the run & were waiting to cross the road. Then it became very annoying.
