Ride 1:05:00 [4] 32.0 km (29.5 kph) +235m
shoes: Giant OCR3

Ride with Jacko and Johan up to Yanchep and back. They did roughly an extra 50k as they had ridden from Jacko's place and I met them in Butler.
The talk early on was for an easy cruise to Yanchep as they had put in a decent effort already but once we were on Marmion Ave and Jacko saw some riders up ahead that plan was out the window.
At an early climb near Alkimos Jacko had dropped back behind myself and Johan and I suspected he was going to launch a surprise attack so I put in a bit of an effort thinking if he was going to attack I may be able to put off the inevitable pass until near the top... he didn't.
We did a quick lap of Yanchep then back onto Marmion for a return into a strong SE'ly. Jacko sitting on the front for most of the way. I went to the front at one stage but I must have been going too slow as I didn't last more than a minute before Jacko took over.
Back up the the other side of the hill at Alkimos I was sitting just off Jacko's wheel and changing gears when he did until half way up when I realised if I took off he probably wouldn't chase as they had already ridden further and had a lot further than I did to go home into the wind.
Hell, an easy win against a non respondent Jacko isn't going to come up very often so I took off for the token win. (I still looked to back to be sure just before the top).
I struggled a bit on the return but I'm happy to be out and slowly increasing the time and effort, I'll probably be ready for a "B" group hills ride in a week or two.

MTB 39:40 [3] 12.4 km (3:12 / km) +108m 3:04 / km
ahr:148 max:168 shoes: Giant Anthem X3

MTB ride on the Neerabup trail south of Hester Ave to just short of Burns Beach Rd and return.
I was testing out the new chest harness for the camera but it was set a bit low so lots of video of knees pumping up and down and not much of a view of where I was going. Will be good once I get the angle right.
Starting to feel a bit better in the afternoons now, still getting headaches everyday but not as bad. Hopefully will be feeling back to normal sometime soon.

Ride 35:54 [3] 18.18 km (30.4 kph) +156m
shoes: Giant OCR3

Same ride as Saturday morning but with a stronger SSW.
I got to the roundabout a bit quicker but was not looking forward to the return.
I concentrated on getting lower for less wind resistance and also broke up the return into shorter goals which seemed to help as it didn't feel as hard as Saturday and I was heading into a stronger wind.
Time is "moving time" as I had a quick stop at the roundabout to finish my water bottle and decided to wait until a truck I could see in the distance coming from Yanchep had passed before starting back again.
