Trail run south of Hester ave.
I just focused on trying to keep my stride a bit shorter to protect my sore hamstring. During the week I've also had some tightness behind my left knee and some ankle pain, both of which I'm hoping are related to the hammy pain.
I've got a physio appt on monday to try & figure out any underlying problems.
I felt ok for most of the run although my left leg had a few random pains in various places throughout the run. I was able to pick up the pace a little at the end with the gradual uphill as there was less chance of overstriding.

Note

Left hammy a bit sore after Sundays run. It was fine during the run so just a very mild strain but it's the second time in just over a month so will have to find the underlying cause & deal with it.
May try a very easy run Wednesday or Thursday but it was going to be a quieter week anyway so as long as I can get it good for next week all is good. Will probably pass on the Darlington half that I was considering for Sunday.

Kep recon run #2, Northam to Wundowie.
About 18 people for todays run, conditions perfect at the start, warming up a bit by the end with most of the run exposed to the sun.
My plan was to run at a pretty even effort. I didn't take any walking breaks on the hills today but we had a short break at Clackline. We had a group of 8 for the first 20km then split up & was running with Fee & Tim to the finish. My previous longest run this year was 23km so I was happy to get to about 26km before the legs started to get tired. Tim & Fee are both quicker runners and as my legs got tired I was happy to be able to continue with them at a steady pace although I was close to dropping back a couple of times in the last 8km.
My time to Wundowie was about the same as when I did the 75km a couple of years ago but that was run at a stupid pace to Clackline then a slow death to the finish. Hopefully this year I will be able to hold a more even pace throughout the race (or at least postpone the death march until much later in the race).
