Short easy effort trail run.
Right calf felt a little tight at the start but was ok after a few km's.
No limping & only very slight tightness after the run. Almost there, hopefully a massage tomorrow will help with the last few percent.

After a few days off & some dry needling, my right calf/achilles was feeling pretty good so I went out for an easy trail run.
Other that the legs feeling a little heavy at the start everything felt pretty good up until about 3km to go when I started to feel some tightness in the calf again. After the run there was a little tenderness in the achilles & a very slight limp.
This weekend was supposed to be my last couple of long runs before the WTF but I think I'll skip them and have a bit of a rest then start a gradual taper over the next 3 weeks with nothing longer than 20k. Better to be injury free & underprepared than risk not turning up to the start line. I'm still able to do my strength & stability exercises without aggravating the calf & I'll just focus on the non-running prep for the race for a few days.
