Red course at Hickory Run Sand Spring, starting at Camp Daddy Allen. 6.8k, 190m. Fun and challenging course set by Sandy F. Very nice weather - sunny, upper 60s, low humidity.

My run was OK. Missed the first control to the left - saw the reentrant but looped around a bit before heading further up into the form-line part of it. Chased the wrong hill on the way to 7 but figured it out pretty quickly. Sub-optimal route choice to 9 (knew it at the time but didn't want to run on the road). AP has me with about 8 minutes of errors, which seems about right.

A sprint course designed by Sam K through the Daddy Allen campground area. Nominally 2.6k. Ran most of this but didn't really ever push to race pace. Fun course with nice open woods to run through and lots of paths and buildings to use for navigation.

Picked up four controls in the middle of the map. Spent about 15 extra minutes finding one control (and feeding the mosquitos). Passed right by it once but took way too long to get relocated - brain must've been fried.

Frenchtown Preserve near Frenchtown, NJ. Trails were a little overgrown in places (particularly where sunlight reaches the undergrowth) but were mostly rideable, except for the occasional downed branch or tree. Lots of twisty trails through cedars with very little rocks or roots, so fun to ride. A couple hills to deal with, mostly to cross the ravine between parking and the bulk of the trail system. Almost 80F and still humid so a bit of a sweatfest.

Trails at Walking Purchase Park in Salisbury Township. Did a big loop starting at Dodson St. parking (at the top). Temperature in the low 70s, mostly cloudy and humid. A couple muddy spots and damp, slippery rocks.

South Mountain Reservation (Essex Co., NJ). Visiting the grandkids and this park is close by (yes, it's the one where HVO hosted an A-meet in 1994 - I had a copy of the 27 year old map - don't know if it's ever been updated.). Took a fall about 2km into the run and put enough of a gash in my left hand that I decided to cut the run short and deal with getting it cleaned up and patched. Warm day - low 80s.
