Like an old horse, upon arising I just couldn't refrain from pulling on my shorts and going down to the basement for a bit a exercise.

This was possibly because yesterday I'd read about the wonderful effect "vigorous" aerobic exercise 5 days/wk has on all the diseases of aging: stroke, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc. disclosed in a January 2011 paper. And it turns out exercise is invaluable not only as a preventative precaution, but also as treatment for existing conditions. Figures such as "61% reduced death rate.." were tossed around -- major findings.

So 17 seconds greater than my best 70-year time; but all negative pace splits: 2:17.0, 2:15.9, 2:15.5, 2:14.2, 2:10.3 Nevertheless I've got to shift gears and try to do some running outside...even in the forecast snow for the next four days. I've a 5k to try to do in 8 days!
