Soldier Field 10-Miler. Rode bike 7mi from house to race. What a zoo at 6:30am. Super security for ~12 500 runners. Guards and fences everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised that, even at $80/head Fleet Feet still lost money on this race.

But even with all that, race was pretty much on time. And race course, while predictable (run down Lakefront for 5 miles and turn around) was still pleasant. Started slowly and seem to have sped up somewhat...kept thinking of Charlie's comment about his increased enthusiasm coming into the barn. Or maybe it was the free Goose Island beer at the finish line:

10-12:54...Finish on 50-yd line inside Soldier Field, video on Jumbotron overhead. Cannot imagine being down there with the stands filled, everyone screaming, and 250-lb monsters bearing down on you.
